Life is good.
It is moving forward.
Always does.
I am constantly reminded of how fast life goes when I look back at previous posts. My baby Zac is growing up so fast! He is a full on crawler now! Eating more solid foods and wants everything we have! CJ is his best buddy and CJ is the only one that can get him to laugh...belly-laugh. I do love watching them. Zac has 6 teeth and likes to bite pretty much everything. He now understands these words: Mama, Dada, Brother, Zac, Zachary, Zachary Robert, Zachary Robert Lomas and No. He is a great kid. Sleeps well. Is super cute and well loved.

CJ starts baseball this week and as Allison cheerfully reminded me we go until JULY! Yikes. If the sun would shine a bit more regularly I might be a bit more cheerful. I do like baseball a bit more than soccer. It does run longer, but I think I like it because I understand the game more. (You wouldn't know it by the amount of questions I ask...)

A quick shout-out to my Uncle Joe back in Rockford, Illinois. He emails me that he reads my blog but has yet to comment. Thanks for being a loyal reader (stalker). Love ya!

Good Time in MT

Portland to Seattle, Seattle to Missoula and then back again. Riding in a small plane was not so bad especially with their complimentary drinks!




Hello and Goodbye to the Bitteroot Mountains! So gorgeous, so big and sooooo close!





The Ayres family! Cara is a long time friend from OSU along with husband Tommy and beautiful daughter Jonwyn. Fun times had by all. We (Heather, Beth and I) went specifically to see Cara perform in Honky Tonk Laundry. She and her friend Beth (we call her MT Beth) act in a two-woman production. It is full of singing, laughs, tears and good fun. They both are vocal powerhouses and actors with great comedic timing. They performed at the Missoula Children's Theater for a MissoulaLive fundraiser this weekend, but next weekend head to Reno for another performance. They will surely bring the house down! Thank you so much for such a great time!

I am not a real vet...but I can play one on my blog

You don't have to adjust your screen. Yes, this is me playing vet with Cara's cows. Yes, that is a long glove. Yes, that is my hand. Yes, it is where you think it is. I have seen Cara do AI cows for over a decade and I have always wanted to know how she does it, what she does and how it feels. So, last night I went with Tommy and her to AI two of their cows. Did I "really" get to do it...no, but I got to pretend.

Easter

We made so many eggs. We are still eating egg this-and-that. They are very pretty!

I thought it would be nice to post some Easter pictures before the next holiday rolled around. We had a great, relaxing time decorating eggs with the Ryan's and my niece and nephew on Good Friday. My mom had the kids the whole weekend. They did really fun stuff like: went swimming, played in the park, watched movies, hung out, computer games and just hung out like cousins are supposed to. I love it when they are together. On Sunday my mom cooked us all a great breakfast and Auntie Anna (aka the Easter Bunny) hid about 115 plastic eggs filled with candy and coins in my mom's very magical and gorgeous backyard. The kids had a blast...even in the rain. Of course Zac had to get his first egg. He tried to eat it. It was too big. He lost interest very quickly. Thanks mom for a great Easter!

OK, so he only slept for about 5 minutes (at best) but he is sleeping on Jakie's big boy bed! It was really too cute. We were over at the Ryan's house (our great friends and god-parents to CJ) for a kick off to spring/summer BBQ (that is what it was in my mind anyway). The weather was perfect for some yummy BBQ and eating on the back porch with kids running around.

I should also mention here that Zac now has 6 teeth! Yes six! The fourth one finally popped through today on the top and the two on the bottom are still growing strong. Funny story...he was eating something just the other day and started to choke (not really choke, but cough-choke) and I went to go sweep in mouth with my finger and the only thing I could think of was how bad it was going to hurt if he bit me! He (obviously) survived and all is well. We also are brushing his teeth every so often. When I say brushing I mean putting a plastic sheath (for lack of a better word) over our finger with some baby toothpaste and rubbing his gums and teeth for about 20 seconds...or until he bites us! How can he be so strong?

What else is he doing now? Pulling himself up on EVERYTHING! The tops of tables are not safe, anything that is not nailed down is not safe and if he is not getting in the stand up position quickly enough...he lets us know! He is also talking up a storm. Talking is more like babbling. CJ is convinced Zac has said his name. Too cute. They do continue to have fun together.

We are at the tail end of the soccer season and baseball is just around the corner. Guess I should get some pictures of CJ playing soccer before I post baseball pictures!? Yikes! Well, to get the pictures that would require me actually going to a game. Zac and I are usually staying home unless it is a warm, sunny day. (Confessions from a fair-weather soccer mom) I know there are more of you out there!

My sister's dad came for a visit. It was long overdue. We shared some old memories, chatted about our lives and he met Zac.

That rubber ducky shoots (sprinkles) water out of its head! We got it for a shower gift and it is really fun. CJ and Zac both love it. Without going back to check the shower thank yous I am not sure who got it for us...but thanks!

My baby!

Zac took his first bath in the regular bathtub the other night. The date on the pictures is correct, just read it as April 2nd. We did the bathroom sink when he was just a few days old, then moved into the plastic tub you use in the kitchen sink then we moved onto us showering with him (btw, much easier for us but not as fun for him). This bathtub routine is really fun for all of us. I know I will most likely get really tired of it and hate that I get soaking wet each time, but for now it is great. Zac loves to splash about, flip and turn around, try to stand, giggles, gulps waters and loves everything there is about a bath. CJ is a great help. You know when you forget the washcloth but can't leave the baby alone? The phone rings and you are soaking wet? You want to stand upright for just a minute? Well, CJ is totally fabulous at watching his baby brother for a few minutes while all of the above are happening. They also like to giggle and play with each other while Zac is getting his bath. I tell ya, those boys of mine! I do love them!!
