The Sluggers

Carlos and Steve coached the boys again this year in baseball.  I have to say that I really, really enjoy watching CJ play.  He is a good hitter, great second baseman and I really love it when he play shortstop.  I really don't have a baseball team that I follow...either college or professional, but watching my son play melts my heart.  The season was mostly wet and cold, but we did have a few days of sunshine here and there and even a few hot games.  They had a great season and lost in the first round of the playoffs.  Way to to Sluggers!

The Park in July

It was a sunny day, but not too warm for July...or maybe this was in June, I am not too sure at this point.  I do know that during the month of July we really didn't do much away from home because I was teaching two days a week up at PSU.  We walked a lot to the park, played at home, jumped on the trampoline and got to spend time as a family.  With all my summer commuting, it was nice to just be home.

Book Club

This  year I belong to my very first book club!  It is super exciting and makes me feel all grown up! 

It has been interesting to hear the thoughts and ideas of my friends on a much different level and in a highly focused arena.  We are able to get into some fairly deep discussions regarding race, social classes, feminism and social issues.
